INCENTIVE DESTINATIONS:
Questions to Ask Prior to Selection

1. DOES THE DESTINATION FIT THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF THE GROUP?

Though incentive winners can come from all walks of life, there are some common traits that link them together - professionalism, income, and education.

2. HOW APPEALING AND EXCITING IS THE DESTINATION?

The destination has to have some sizzle and appeal for the audience or there will be no incentive to reach or exceed the program goals.

3. IS THE DESTINATION RELATIVELY EASY TO REACH?

Though most incentive recipients aren’t adverse to treks in Nepal or visiting game preserves in Africa, three flights and six-hour bus rides may not serve as the best incentive, especially where couples are involved. Safety should also be a major consideration.

4. WHAT'S THE CLIMATE LIKE?

North Americans place tremendous emphasis on climate and weather. Generally, people like to go from cold to warmer climates.

5. WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES ARE OFFERED?

Is there enough to do to please a diverse audience? Ideal incentive destinations generally provide a mix of activities ranging from cultural to recreational to shopping to high adventure.

6. IS THE DESTINATION CAPABLE OF HANDLING GROUPS OF VARIOUS SIZES?

Some exotic and remote locales may be wonderful retreats for individual travelers but may not be suitable for larger groups.
